Beaver Creek Photography Ski Log Snow Terrain

Beaver Creek (2012-12-22)

Beaver Creek looked good yesterday: blue skies, great temperatures, soft snow, and new terrain.

Lucky for us, Larkspur opened for the season and we were able to grab a handful of powder turns, so we headed there early. There was plenty of deep, soft powder but it was clear that there wasn’t much underneath it. I saw a number of big rocks sticking out (and every other pole dig sounded like it hit a rock).

Plenty of snow guns were out trying to fill in terrain, they’ve got a little ways to go. The stuff that is open and groomed was pretty good. Some of the bumpy blues and blacks off Centennial (including Rose Bowl) is a bit rough. I think with this week’s coming snow storm (combined with making snow) should help make a world of difference.

That said, we were pretty lucky to get some soft turns in from the storm days earlier. Plus, nothing beats sitting outside and ending the day at 8100 (at the Park Hyatt).
