Update on I-70 Twin Tunnels project from Summit County Voice

Bob Berwyn has an update on CDOT’s progress on the Twin Tunnels project:

Part of the project could be done in time for the upcoming ski season. The improvements could shave a few minutes off the trip back to Denver, and, more importantly, should help reduce the number of accidents along that stretch, which can bring traffic to a standstill for hours.

I didn’t realize the full scope of the project, which also includes straightening the turns over Clear Creek, will be partially done by the end of the year, and the rest by next summer.
