Breckenridge Archives

  1. Breckenridge (4/15/2012)

This Sunday was the end of the regular season for most of the remaining resorts in Colorado. Breckenridge’s last day, except for it’s final two weekends, was yesterday and we were gifted 8-inches of fresh new snow. We haven’t seen this much snow at once in months. The new snow was great and we found…

  2. Breckenridge (4/8/2012)

Spending Easter morning at Breckenridge was a great spring activity. We started by waking up at 5:30 AM to head over to Ten Mile Station and attend the Sunrise Service. The near-full moon lit the chair ride up Peak 9. By 6:30 the sun crested over the continental divide and it seemed like we had…

  3. Breckenridge (4/7/2012)

It’s spring skiing in the Rockies and that means no traffic, no crowds and wonderful weather. We arrived at Breck around 9:30 and the airport lot had no more than two dozen cars. Once we hit Peak 7 we noticed something I haven’t seen in months: no lift line. We were able to get in…

  4. Sunrise Easter Service on the mountain

If anyone is looking for a place to celebrate Easter in Summit County (or is just looking for an excuse to watch the sunrise from the top of the Rocky Mountains), it looks like Breckenridge has a sunrise service on Peak 9.  Meet at the Quicksilver lift (no ski gear allowed, but also no lift…

  5. EpixMix deal: 20 photos for $20 →

    EpicMix_photo_thumb.jpg-180x113

If you missed this, EpicMix has announced a special offer that allows you to purchase 20 of your high-resolution photos for only $19.80. Regularly the photos are $19.95 each so this is a great deal for those that held out. Plus, they’re “opening up” all of this seasons photos to go back and buy, share, etc. (but that really just seemed like unnecessary obsolescence from the beginning and is the right thing to do).

  6. Trials of the T-Bar: tips for your first time

    T-Bar at Breckenridge

I’ve become much better at snowboarding over the past few seasons, but the T-Bar at Breckenridge can still give me pause. Getting up to the top with a snowboard is always a bit of a challenge. So if there’s anyone else out there that always thinks it’s an accomplishment to make it in one piece,…

  7. Weekend with cosnow: March 23-25, 2012

    co_snow-logo-icon-light

Spring has officially sprung in Colorado and we’ve got a lot of fun events coming up across the state for the next few weekends. I’ll be trying out a new feature here by posting a quick roundup with highlights. Since it’s going to be so darn warm a few patio events and concerts are in…

  8. Something tells me (with St. Patrick’s and the lack of snow) there’s going to be a lot more “après” than “ski” this weekend. See you up in Breckenridge?!

  9. Plenty of snow last night in Summit County and Vail. Perfect Saturday morning conditions for those willing to fight traffic.
