Breckenridge Archives

  1. Recap: Breckenridge 12-13-2008

This weekend has been great for the mountains. Most resorts saw at least half a foot and Breckenridge was one of them. There are plenty of bare spots all over the mountain but if you search hard enough you could find some great, untouched snow over on Peak 8. We found that most people stuck…

  2. Employees banned from using Playboy snowboards

A new line of snowboards called ‘Love’ from Burton have nearly-nude models on them and Vail Resorts, Winter Park, and Echo Mountain (so far) have prohibited employees from riding on them. Sure it’s common sense. Even though they aren’t preventing guests (and off-the-clock employees) from using them, I wonder how long until someone makes a…

  3. The Orbitz Ski Index is mostly Colorado

Based on hotel bookings, Orbitz has compiled a list they call the Orbitz Ski Index. It actually surprised me to see Breckenridge so high on the list, beating out Banff and Whistler. But, of course, all the usual suspects are there: Vail, Aspen, Winter Park, etc. Sadly enough Copper Mountain didn’t make an appearance. Maybe…

  5. CoSnow Guide to 2008/2009 Season Passes

I know, I know–it’s only August but with the recent (dramatic) change in weather here in Denver (from sunny 90s to wet 60s) it’s a nice reminder that the seasons will change and we’ll be back on the slopes in no time. So, the question, have you bought a 2008/2009 season pass yet? If you’re…

  20. Fun Breckenridge Run: Inferno

Sunday I visited Breckenridge and was greeted with over 11″ of powder. Inferno, a black diamond off of Peak 9, is one of the more consistently entertaining runs I’ve found. Although it was closed this past weekend you could head down a fraction of the run, perhaps the part that mattered most: the deep powder.…
