Another great Colorado web resource, this one by the I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition: GoI70.com. I mentioned this site earlier in the year but it’s now live and ready for people to play with. It has everything from realtime traffic, weather, road conditions, ski resort snow reports, places to stay, things to do, and so on. The interactive map is an excellent resource.
But here’s the best part: the jackrabbits. A crowdsourced collection of individuals that provide live road and weather updates. If this gets enough traction the value could be immeasurable. I’ve tried to keep people updated with real-time traffic status while I’m on the roads, but a centralized resource will reach more people and provide more value. I’m excited to see how this goes.
