Monarch Mountain is the perfect ski area for people looking to get away from the hustle-bustle of the bigger resorts. Monarch is very affordable and easily accessible from the Front Range via Highways 285 and 50. At Monarch you park right at the base of the mountain and walk to the lifts, making it very convenient for families with little ones. Monarch’s two strongest attributes are friendly people and abundant natural snowfall (350″). This season give Monarch Mountain a try. You’ll be glad you did.

Introducing Glen the newest avalanche rescue dog at Monarch Mountain

Mike Collette introduces Glen the avalanche rescue dog in training at the top of Breezeway Lift at Monarch Mountain. Together they will be available to assist in search and rescues operations around the Upper Arkansas Valley and throughout Colorado. An opportunity to meet Glen will take place when Monarch Mountain hosts a meet-and-greet from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 3 at Monarch Mountain base area lodge.
