Articles By Devin Reams

My name is Devin Reams and I founded this site to provide a useful news and review resource for Colorado skiers and snowboarders (and mountain enthusiasts).

I graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2007 and help manage a web design and development firm in Denver.

I've been skiing since I was a little kid (we moved out here when I was five years old) and I plan to ski for years beyond that. Although cosnow is not my full-time job it is my full-time winter hobby. I've been an "Epic Local" passholder since 2006 (when it was called a "Colorado Pass" or "Five Mountain Pass"). My favorite resorts are Beaver Creek and Breckenridge.

If you'd like to learn more about me please check out my personal web site or follow me on Twitter.

Snowpack has been over 100% for most of the season so far so I was not disappointed for early January conditions. My first day (but not Rachel’s) was the day after New Years Day and I got over to Winter Park early. The main free lot was already full by 8:30 and since it was…

Fraser River trail near Rendezvous in Fraser, Colorado

Happy New Year! I went on a late afternoon hike with snowshoes along the Fraser River trail at the Rendezvous community to get outdoors and ring in the New Year. The trails alliance does a nice job taking snowmobiles through the Fraser River trail and surrounding areas, including into the lower Rendezvous community, to groom…

I was lucky enough to have a mid-day visit on Friday to Winter Park after a huge storm on Wednesday. It was a beautiful sunny day and around 1:00 PM I pulled into Winter Park’s free parking lot and was able to find an open parking spot. After walking past the Moffat Tunnel I was…

Our first day back on the slopes since late January with so much great snow! It’s tough to write but it’s true: for various reasons, we weren’t able to ski at all in February. It had been way too long. That said, we woke up to 8 inches of new snow overnight at Winter Park…

After a big storm, I had lots of fun exploring the Eagle Wind territory. I started the day a little after 9:30 AM (on a Monday) so I had the whole place to myself. It had been a very crowded weekend with, from what I heard, anywhere from 15,000-17,000 people on Saturday and Sunday. My…

One quick day before the holidays but the best powder so far! Since I’m only averaging 5-10 runs each time I get out, I’m trying to find ways to get creative and make sure I’m spending my time wisely. Luckily the day before Winter Park got a bunch of snow so I headed over to…

Day two and plenty of blue (skies)! This morning I decided to make my way over to the Vasquez Ridge Territory and see how much snow it’s received. I headed up Gemini Express again and worked my way back using Prospector Express and then skiing past Olympia to get to the territory. That’s a nice…
