Weekend with cosnow: March 23-25, 2012

Spring has officially sprung in Colorado and we’ve got a lot of fun events coming up across the state for the next few weekends. I’ll be trying out a new feature here by posting a quick roundup with highlights.

Colorado Freeride Championships at Aspen/Snowmass

If you’re looking for some folks still working hard this season (personally, I’m running out of steam), stop by Aspen/Snowmass to check out the events on Hanging Valley Headwall and Burn Side Cliffs.

Continuing Breck’s Spring Fever series, check out free concerts from folks like Julian Marley, and Soul Rebel’s Brass Band.

New Belgium Scavenger Hunt at Eldora

Here’s a fun event for a good cause: wear a costume, find clues and raise money for Leave No Trace.

And if you’re sticking around town, swing by Golden and check out the free Mountain Fest at the American Mountaineering Museum. It’s a great way to get motivated and learn skills for spring and summer mountain adventures. This year’s event will feature free outdoor skills clinics, museum tours, open climbing, slacklining, hiking, mountaineering, fly fishing, and camping schools, adventure travel, youth education program, and much more.
