The closest ski mountain to Denver is no more: Echo Mountain was bought at auction and will be re-opening in November 2012 as a kids-focused ski training facility called the Front Range Ski Club.
The new Club will become a membership-based facility with focus on after-school programs for young alpine racers looking for world-class training. The staff roster will include World Cup Alpine ski racers.
Echo Mountain’s Facebook page announced the sale and within hours hundreds of sad and angry comments were left. Many families and snowboarders enjoyed the small hill and some people resent the fact the resort was sold so quickly.
