This was our first day of the 2013/2014 season and it was pretty great compared to prior years. While Rachel spent the day at ski school, I spent the day doing laps on the T-Bar.
There is much more coverage and terrain available than I would’ve expected for this time of year. Though, it’s fairly clear we’re about a week overdue for new snow. Luckily there is plenty in the forecast.
The Horsehoe Bowl felt ok at lower elevations, same for the other runs off the T-Bar. Most of Peak 8 was well groomed and easy riding. Plenty of snow is being made over at Peak 9 and it sounds like Mercury will be open this weekend to help spread out the crowds.
Overall, I was happy with the warm weather, blue skies, and good skiing this Black Friday.
