Skied at Vail on January 8, 2016

Our first day back on the hill this season was one of the biggest around: Vail!

Rachel had never been to Vail and since we were in town for a conference, we made the most of a quiet Friday on the mountain.

After a leisurely walk along the creek, we started at the Cascade Hotel’s lift where there is literally no line to wait in.

We enjoyed plenty of fresh snow and untouched powder (with about 2″ overnight) stashed away in the Game Creek Bowl and back in the Sun Down Bowl.

After three solid hours and 8 long runs, we ended our (13k vertical feet) day back at the Cascade feeling pretty good. I really look forward to a huge powder day at Vail, it’s been too long (for me)…
