The race to open is on! Arapahoe Basin is announcing their opening day to be October 15th, 2008. The exhibition chair opens at 9:00 AM. Visit the webcams to see the (lack of) snow. Loveland is still to be determined.
If you haven’t seen or heard it yet: there’s all kinds of snow in the high country! Snow can be seen from Denver and Boulder on the mountains so we’re hoping the season will start off a bit better than last year. Visit Snow.com to see a video of Breckenridge’s snow fall last week.
Snow in August? You betcha. The high country is getting hit with some awesome weather (pretty awesome for mid-August!). It looks like snow is sticking at elevations above 10,500 feet and as of tonight Trail Ridge Road is closed with 6 inches of snow. What does this mean for the upcoming season? Who knows–it’s Colorado!
