  1. Skied at Winter Park on January 1, 2017

Happy New Year! We had a beautiful blue-sky Sunday at Winter Park and it felt like we had it all to ourselves. We started the New Year’s morning leaving Denver around 6:45 AM and saw no snow on the road nor traffic in front of us. The drive was smooth and we were up and…

  2. Skied at Arapahoe Basin on March 20, 2016

It had been a long time since we’d skied at A-Basin. So we woke up bright and early, left by 7 AM, and by 8 we were turning up the windy highway (US 6). We snagged an awesome nearly front-row (right next to the beach) parking spot and I headed to the to the 6th…

  3. Skied at Beaver Creek on December 13, 2015

We had another great mid-December day at Beaver Creek. Yesterday was cloudy and snowy. Today was clear with blue skies and sunshine. What a great weekend! We spent most of the day over at Bachelor Gulch and had a great time on the freshly groomed new snow. We even found a few piles of powder…

  4. It’s snowing in Colorado!

No, we won’t tell you about every single time it snows in Colorado this season. But, it’s worth getting excited today for a few reasons: With a few resorts already open, locals can take advantage of the powder day not just today but probably even up to the weekend. Many additional resorts plan to be…

We did a quick afternoon at Beaver Creek. We knew it was going to be a busy day when we saw the cars start parking on a Highway 6. After a nice lunch from Larkburger and a Wit from Crazy Mountain we headed up.

Rachel and Devin at Strawberry Park

By the afternoon the snow was already a bit slushy. Temperatures were in the 30s so it was great weather for humans (but not for snow). After some tree runs, which still had powder, at Bachelor Gulch we ended the day on the sunny patio at Mami’s Cabin. The umbrella bar is one of my favorite places to be and on a warm day the picnic tables were welcoming.

  6. Keystone (2014-03-01)

We left Denver at 6:15 in the morning and this was our worst drive in recent memory. The snow was falling and it had snowed a lot overnight in the mountains. It was also warm enough to be very wet and slick. We avoided the many accidents coming down from the tunnel but saw dozens…
