Keystone (2012-02-11)

It was an ideal Saturday on the slopes. A-Basin saw 8 inches, Keystone saw 4, Vail had 10. We picked Keystone since we hadn’t been in a while and wanted to give the Outback a second chance. Good thing we did.

The difference a month will make. The Outback at Keystone had plenty of fresh snow. All the runs had fresh snow and the trees (Pika, Wolverine) allowed for plenty of fresh tracks, even late into the afternoon.

Rachel and I stayed all afternoon (until the last chair) and never saw a line. While everyone else must’ve had their fill of powder by lunch, we found all kind of great trails until the sun went down.

I did so much skiing my knees hurt for the first time ever. I’m worried I’m getting old. Or maybe it was just a great afternoon. Or maybe both…
