It’s still spring here in Steamboat so we decided to go out at lunch to take advantage of the softer snow in the afternoon and avoid the morning crunch.
After heading up the gondola we made our way over to Sunshine Peak to check out the “right side” of the hill. The temperatures were about the same (warm!) but the sun was hiding behind the clouds.
The blues off High Noon and Tomahawk were feeling good and the main runs were great for making quick long turns. Attempts to do much in the trees or bumps were met with icy resistance and we stayed away for the most part.
Overall we had a nice, warm, overcast day with plenty of long, tiring runs.
