  1. Wow, it looks like the entire state saw a bunch of snow in the past 24 hours. Why can’t today be Friday instead?

  2. Rent ski clothes and equipment through Mountain Threads →

If you’re looking to visit Colorado and a bit short on skiwear (maybe you live somewhere tropical) then check out Mountain Threads. This local business of renting jackets, pants, gloves, hats, etc. is not a new concept (common in Europe) but fairly new to Colorado. Prices are fairly reasonable and the convenience can’t be beat. A typical men’s outfit (underwear, jacket, hat, gloves, pants, helmet) will run about $100 per day and deliver directly to any address you provide.

  3. Vail Resorts continues manifest destiny by acquiring Kirkwood Mountain →

From Morgan Bast at the Buzz blog:

[Vail Resorts] announced this morning that they have entered into an agreement to acquire the Lake Tahoe resort, making almost eight ski resorts accessed through the Epic, Epic Local, and Tahoe Value passes. As of today, Kirkwood passholders will have access to Heavenly and Northstar California, and Vail Resorts passholders will have access to Kirkwood. All pass options and information can be found at bestoftahoe.com.

    Not too shabby.

  4. Keystone (2/11/2012)

It was an ideal Saturday on the slopes. A-Basin saw 8 inches, Keystone saw 4, Vail had 10. We picked Keystone since we hadn’t been in a while and wanted to give the Outback a second chance. Good thing we did. The difference a month will make. The Outback at Keystone had plenty of fresh…

  5. Plenty of snow last night in Summit County and Vail. Perfect Saturday morning conditions for those willing to fight traffic.
