It had been a long time since we’d skied at A-Basin. So we woke up bright and early, left by 7 AM, and by 8 we were turning up the windy highway (US 6). We snagged an awesome nearly front-row (right next to the beach) parking spot and I headed to the to the 6th Alley Bar to enjoy their famous bacon bloody mary.
Since it had just snowed the week before (for the first time after a very warm stretch) there was actually still untouched snow throughout the ski area. I spent a few runs on the east side of the Monetzuma bowl and had a great time making soft turns in the trees.
It was a warm, sunny day and a great way to officially start the spring season.
After a beautiful day with no traffic, short lines, I asked myself why we don’t visit A-Basin more often.
