Skied at Copper Mountain on February 25, 2017

It was great to get back to Copper Mountain and explore what Union Peak has to offer

Copper Mountain in Colorado

I grew up skiing at Copper Mountain and never spent much time outside of the main base areas and Timberline Express. When we headed up with a friend it was time to explore a bit more and see what some more advanced terrain looked like at Copper Mountain.

It was a really cold day. It was only about 10 degrees all morning and the sun turned quickly to clouds, wind, and snow just before lunch. It helped keep the snow soft but meant very cold faces, toes and fingers.

We did a few more runs over off the Super Bee chair after lunch. It was so cold and windy there was no line at this point. We left around 2 PM and didn’t hit any traffic on the way home.

We ended up finishing the day at a healthy 11 runs covering about 13,000 vertical feet.
