  1. 2017 opening dates for resorts in Colorado

The 2017 season is nearly here! With the first snow headed to Denver this weekend and snowmaking in full swing in the mountains, it’s time to start planning your first runs. Both Vail Resorts and Colorado Ski Country have officially published these dates online. But, of course, everything is subject to change. Be sure to…

  2. Skied at Breck on March 5, 2016

It had been quite a while since we went skiing. Nearly two full months, actually. And I feel like we completely missed out on the winter season here in Colorado. We visited Breck on Saturday and it was a beautiful, warm, sunny, spring day? The first weekend in March? Not good. Maybe I was just…

  3. Skied at Breckenridge on December 20, 2015

After an awesome day exploring Peak 6 and skiing off the Kensho SuperChair we decided to check out Peak 7 and 8. Luckily we were greeted with snow flurries mid-day and after a few runs it was coming down hard. We had an inch or two underfoot in no time and enjoyed the soft, fluffy…

  4. Skied at Breckenridge on December 19, 2015

Even though Peak 6 is not new to Breck, it was new to us. We haven’t had a chance to visit and check it out ourselves until now. And we had a great time. We started a late, sunny, blue-bird morning heading up the gondola from Main Street and jumped off at Peak 7. From…

  5. The names of Breck’s Peak 6 runs →

Peak 6 at Breckenridge introduced nearly 550 acres and over three dozen new trails during the 2013-2014 season. Over 1,800 guests submitted trail names that “Awaken Their Sixth Sense” in a contest and 25 were chosen. What are the meanings behind some of these names? Beauty was a common theme but some names suggested spirituality, a state of mind, and of course, sensory experiences… learn more about the names at the Breckenridge Blog.

  6. Breckenridge (2014-02-21)

It was Hope on the Slopes day at Brecenridge. The day where all the teams that raised money for he American Cancer Society got to hit the hill and rack up as much vertical feet as they could.

Being on Team Breck was a blast. We had our hand-made capes which drew plenty of smiles and attention. And we had our large group flying down the hill, as quickly, yet safely, as possible. We had a huge day at Breck: over 26,000 vertical feet (16 chair rides). I look forward to it again next year.
