Skied at Winter Park on January 7, 2018

What a difference a snow storm makes! The night before Sunday our snow prayers were answered and Winter Park received 6 inches of new snow.

We headed to Winter Park after lunch and found a close-up spot in the bench lot (that you can walk into the village from). There was no line at Zephyr so I headed up on my own for a few afternoon runs while Rachel waited her turn at the bottom.

I decided I wanted to re-trace some of my steps from the week before and see what had changed in the 5 days. It turns out: a lot!

I was able to drop down the cat path towards Mary Jane and the ropes were down on a few of the runs off the side. The moguls were already well formed by mid-day but they were soft and fluffy. A nice difference from the rocky runs just a few days ago.

The clouds stayed around during the day so the light was flat but temperatures were perfect.

I decided to poke around and play in the trees which was fun. I found plenty of room for new tracks and deep powder turns.

Hooray for new snow!

On Sunday I was able to do 4 long runs in about an hour getting about 4,500 vertical feet and lots of fresh snow at Winter Park.
