The Vimeo Video School has put together an excellent guide on shooting winter action sports (skiing, snowboarding) and takes their own lessons learned from shooting the Winter X-Games in Aspen. The guide is top-notch and broken into some great sections: preparation, positioning, gear, movement, communication.

My name is Devin Reams and I founded this site to provide a useful news and review resource for Colorado skiers and snowboarders (and mountain enthusiasts).
I've been skiing since I was a little kid (we moved out here when I was five years old) and I plan to ski for years beyond that. Although cosnow is not my full-time job it is my full-time winter hobby. I've been an "Epic Local" passholder since 2006 (when it was called a "Colorado Pass" or "Five Mountain Pass"). My favorite resorts are Beaver Creek and Breckenridge.

This […]

If you’re looking to visit Colorado and a bit short on skiwear (maybe you live somewhere tropical) then check out Mountain Threads. This local business of renting jackets, pants, gloves, hats, etc. is not a new concept (common in Europe) but fairly new to Colorado. Prices are fairly reasonable and the convenience can’t be beat. […]
If you haven’t noticed, there’s been plenty of traffic (along with snow) in the mountains. The long-running SkiCarpool.org has always worked as a great venue to find a ride up to the slopes. Be sure to check it out if you’re looking for a carpool buddy…
From Morgan Bast at the Buzz blog: [Vail Resorts] announced this morning that they have entered into an agreement to acquire the Lake Tahoe resort, making almost eight ski resorts accessed through the Epic, Epic Local, and Tahoe Value passes. As of today, Kirkwood passholders will have access to Heavenly and Northstar California, and Vail […]
