This 2013/2014 season is going to be another great one, I can feel it. The snow is falling. A few mountains are already open. Ah, winter.
I also know we’re going to have a great year because the various resorts have been working hard to innovate, improve and better the visitor experiences. Here’s a round-up of some of the notable changes coming to Colorado ski and snowboard mountains this season.
- Arapahoe Basin: Arapahoe Basin remodels and adds improvements at base’s 6th Alley Bar and Grill
- Beaver Creek: Beaver Creek has an escalator added to middle of village near ski school
- Beaver Creek: EpicMix Academy certifications and pins for school activities
- Beaver Creek: Beaver Creek’s Red Tail Camp becomes new Talons facility, Umbrella Bar moves
- Breckenridge: EpicMix Academy certifications and pins for school activities
- Breckenridge: Breckenridge introduces new Peak 6 trails and lifts serving about 500 acres
- Copper Mountain: Copper Mountain has introduced an on-mountain audio guide app, Sherpa
- Copper Mountain: Copper Mountain has fully renovated Woodward at Copper Barn
- Copper Mountain: Copper Mountain has replaced Storm King t-bar and new lift at top of Sierra
- Crested Butte: Crested Butte has added tree terrain at East River lift and Painter Boy for kids
- Eldora: Eldora adds an improved snowmaking system
- Keystone: EpicMix Academy certifications and pins for school activities
- Loveland: Loveland introduces on-hill restrooms and food at Ptarmigan Roost cabin
- Monarch: Monarch introduces improved advanced trails and facility improvements
- Purgatory at Durango: Purg improves snowmaking on front-side
- Silverton: Silverton adding overnight heli-skiing trips
- Steamboat: Steamboat adds brand-new 13,000 square foot Four Points lodge
- Steamboat: Steamboat will begin offering night skiing
- Winter Park: Winter Park adds Cirque Sled snow cat rides for access to Vazquez Cirque
- Vail: Vail’s new 6-person lift to replace #4 which will then replace #12
- Vail: EpicMix Academy certifications and pins for school activities
- Wolf Creek: Wold Creek replaced Treasure Lift with high-speed quad
